Spring Photo Extravaganza!

Welcome to number 2 in a flurry of posts. That’s how we roll here at Petunia in Paradise: radio silence for months, then 4 posts in one week. Besides, “extravaganza” sounds so much more enticing than “catch-all for random stuff I did over the past 3 months,” don’t you think?

How could I live in Switzerland and not go hiking?High on the hills was a lonely goatherd...

Top of Mont Girod in the Jura Mountains, the French-speaking part of Switzerland

I refuse to believe Dandelions are weeds

Spot the Swiss garden gnome!!

Note, the following picture was taken the same day I took the first picture in this post – seriously!

Hiking in Parpan

ahahaha! ad for a toilet that also doubles as a bidet. hilarious.

Sunrise over the alps from a train back to Basel from Geneva

Foggy Bern...also from a train

Believe it or not, this is a bathroom completely covered in cork. Cargo Bar, Basel.

This is in Spiez (pronounced shpee-ITS). Apparently there are supposed to be breathtaking mountains on the other side of that lake. I'll believe it when I see it sans fog.

Vespers at Basel Munster. I wonder how many of these folks double as Guggemusik players at Fasnacht...

Chicago Blues Night, Basel Jazz Festival

A shout out to Georgie. After all, the man's got to fund his trips to Sudan somehow!

Amazing photos! The sunrise from the train is my favorite but they are all so lovely. How do they do any business with all this natural beauty around?
